The name *Gyeonbeopbon* is der ived from the Hanja Gyeon (見), meaning “to see, ” “to observe,” or “to perceive”; Beop (法), meaning “ law , ” “pr inciple, ” or “rule”; and Bon (本), meaning “ foundat ion,” “or igin, ” or “root .

” Together , Gyeonbeopbon represents “The Stage of Perceiving the Law .”

Bui lding upon Simmubon, the Stage of Seeking the Way, pract i t ioners now begin to recognize the deeper pr inciples and technical laws that shape Gongkwon Yusul .

Through 9 fundamental forms, they learn to see beyond individual movements and understand the pr inciples that connect technique, t im ing, balance, movement , and f low .

At this stage, training develops from learning movements into understanding why and how those movements work, establ ishing a deeper foundat ion for the advanced study of Gongkwon Yusul .
