 The Stage of Achieving the Way (도의 실체를 이루는 단계)

[English] Reach a profound stage of training w i th Seongdobon (成道本), the sixth stage of the Samwonbon ser ies. The name Seongdobon is der ived from the Hanja Seong (成) , meaning “to achieve,” “to accompl ish,” or “to br ing to complet ion” ; Do (道), meaning “the way” or “ the path”; and Bon (本), meaning “foundat ion, ” “or igin,” or “root . ”

Together , Seongdobon represents “The Stage of Achieving the Way.”

Bui lding upon the journey through seeking the Way, perceiving i ts pr inciples, establ ishing technique, embodying movement , and integrat ing strategy, pract i t ioners now br ing these elements together into a uni f ied expression of Gongkwon Yusul .

At this stage, advanced str iking, throw ing, joint- locking, and ground techniques are no longer pract iced as separate ski l ls. They f low natural ly from one to another according to distance, t im ing, balance, and the changing si tuat ion. Technique and strategy become integrated expressions of the pr inciples developed throughout the previous stages.

Seongdobon represents the stage in which the pract i t ioner begins to give tangible form to the Way through movement . The pr inciples of Gongkwon Yusul are expressed through the body, transform ing accumulated know ledge, technique, and exper ience into a uni f ied mart ial art .

[한국어] 삼원본의 여섯 번째 단계인 성도본(成道本)을 통해 수련의 깊은 단계에 도달합니다. 성도본이라는 명칭은 ‘이루다, 성취하다, 완성하다’를 뜻하는 이룰 성(成), ‘길, 도’를 뜻하는 길 도(道), 그리고 ‘근본, 기원, 뿌리’를 의미하는 본(本)에서 유래합니다.

이러한 의미를 종합하면 성도본은 “도의 실체를 이루는 단계”를 의미합니다.

무도의 길을 찾고, 그 안의 법과 원리를 보고, 원리를 기술로 세우고, 기술을 몸에 체화하며, 책략까지 움직임과 하나로 통합해 온 과정을 바탕으로 성도본에서는 지금까지의 요소들이 하나의 공권유술로 통합되어 나타나기 시작합니다.

이 단계에서는 고급 타격, 메치기, 관절기, 그라운드 기술을 각각 분리된 기술로 수행하는 것이 아니라 거리, 타이밍, 균형, 변화하는 상황에 따라 하나의 흐름 속에서 자연스럽게 연결합니다. 기술과 책략은 이전 단계에서 익혀온 원리를 표현하는 하나의 움직임으로 통합됩니다.

성도본은 수련자가 움직임을 통해 도(道)에 실체를 부여하기 시작하는 단계입니다. 지금까지 축적한 지식과 기술, 경험이 신체를 통해 공권유술의 원리로 표현되면서 하나의 통합된 무도로 구현됩니다.
